Terms of Service

1. Who we are

Kaaro is an on-demand marketplace that connects you (the customer) with verified skilled workers (Pros / Kaarigars) in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh. We are an introduction service — the Pro does the work and is the contractor; Kaaro provides the platform, booking, tracking, and payments.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and have the legal capacity to enter contracts. By registering you confirm the phone number and email you provide are yours, and that the information you give us is accurate.

3. Bookings

When you book a Pro, you enter a service contract with that Pro. Kaaro is not a party to that contract; we facilitate it. Pricing shown at booking is the starting price; the final price depends on the actual work done as set out below.

4. How time-based jobs are billed

For services billed by time (electrician, plumber, services, carpenter), every job starts with a minimum 1-hour charge. After the first hour, additional time is billed in full-hour blocks using a rounding rule:

  • Up to 14 minutes of extra time after a completed hour — no additional charge.
  • 15 minutes or more of extra time after a completed hour — the next full hour is charged.

Example: if your Pro works 1 hour and 15 minutes on the job, you will be billed for 2 hours. If they work 2 hours and 10 minutes, you will be billed for 2 hours. If they work 2 hours and 18 minutes, you will be billed for 3 hours.

Painters and similar per-area services are billed by area (e.g. ₹15/sqft) and not by time. The price shown at booking is the rate; the final bill is calculated on completed work, measured by both you and the Pro at the end.

5. Distance pricing

Pros within 3 km of the service address are charged at the base rate. Beyond 3 km, a per-kilometre fee is added to cover travel — this is shown to you transparently before you confirm the booking. There are no hidden surcharges.

6. Payment

You can pay by UPI, GPay, PhonePe, Paytm or cash, after the job is completed to your satisfaction. The Pro will confirm the final amount with you before you pay. Kaaro charges the Pro a platform fee out of their earnings — you do not pay any booking fee.

7. Cancellations

You can cancel a booking free of charge before a Pro accepts it. After a Pro has accepted and started travelling, a cancellation fee equal to the distance travel charge may apply, payable to the Pro. The Pro can also cancel before arriving, in which case you owe nothing.

8. Conduct

Treat the Pro with respect; the Pro will treat you with respect. Abuse, threats, discrimination, or unsafe behaviour towards a Pro will result in suspension of your account. The same applies to Pros — and they are removed permanently from the platform.

9. Workmanship

Pros are independent skilled workers, not Kaaro employees. We verify their identity via Aadhaar KYC before they go live, but the quality of work is the Pro's responsibility. If you are not happy with the work, raise it with the Pro on site; most issues are resolved in person, on the spot.

10. Limitation of liability

Kaaro is liable only for the platform service. We are not liable for any damage caused by the Pro to your property during the job, nor for any consequential losses. The Pro is the contractor and the Pro's own liability applies. We encourage you to keep valuables out of the work area.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top of this page tells you the version. If we change something materially, we will notify you on the app before the change takes effect.
